Hello Tailor was born from my frustration in getting clothes tailored. As a design school graduate and former stylist, I know what a difference good tailoring makes. Almost everything I own has been tailored. My pants are shortened or tapered. My sleeves are hemmed. Skirts are taken or let out, or the waistband is removed. Old gowns are shortened to cocktail dresses. My husband’s Charvet shirts are refitted to my body. But the tailoring process has always been challenging. The best tailors move, disappear, or become too expensive. It is tedious to bring the right shoes and underwear to the fitting and return to pick everything up. Getting my husband and teenage sons to the tailor is impossible. I started to think there must be a better way.

I think of myself as my own customer. I want the convenience of someone coming to my apartment or my office to pin my garments. I want master tailors who can work on any fabric. I want thoughtful fashion advice. I want great customer service and the ability to book appointments online. I want my clothes steamed and iron and ready to wear. I want them returned to me in reusable packaging within a reasonable time period. And I want all of that for my family.
